The traditional Agency-Based Model of services puts the responsibility for recruiting, hiring, managing and dismissing caregivers on an agency. The agency sets the wages, schedules the caregiver and directs the actions of the caregiver while in the home. The agency also provides backup caregivers, if needed. An assessment is usually performed under this model to determine the service needs of the individual. The agency then bills Medicaid for the services provided.
Consumer Direct provides this model of service in Montana through Nightingale Nursing and Caregiving and Arizona through Consumer Direct Arizona.
