Self-Directed Services put you in charge of your care. You have the choice in recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and dismissing your care workers. We support your choices and actions. Certain care models change the level of responsibility and control you have to manage your care. Here are the models, how they work, and where they are offered:

Fiscal / Employer Agent (F/EA) Services – Fiscal / Employer Agent model services (also known as F/EA) provide you with the greatest amount of flexibility and control, but also the most responsibility. You have complete authority to manage your care workers and some authority on how you spend your personal care budget such as determining your care worker’s wages and choosing services. We are responsible for payroll tasks such as withholding taxes and distributing paychecks to your workers. We also assist with skills training and helping you to manage your personal care budget.

Available in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Agency With Choice Services – The Agency with Choice or Co-Employment model is similar to F/EA. You are the managing employer and have the authority to manage your care workers, but your personal care budget is set according to the personal care services you are authorized to receive. We are your worker’s employer (employer of record), we set the care worker’s wages, and we are responsible for payroll tasks such as withholding taxes and distributing paychecks to your workers.

Available in Alaska, Arizona, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wisconsin.

Self-Directed Services “Hybrids” – We partner with you to manage your care workers. You are involved with recruiting, selecting, and training your care workers. We are responsible for hiring, dismissing, and paying your care workers. We are also responsible for processing payroll tasks such as withholding taxes and distributing paychecks to your workers.

Available in Arizona, Montana, and New Mexico.
