INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY – FULFILLING OUR HOME HEALTH MISSION Image

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women in our lives and in our workplace. As a company providing health care for the elderly, people with long-term disabilities or developmental disabilities, we recognize the essential value women represent in home health care.

Women represent almost 90% of the workforce who provide home health services. The health care industry in general enjoys a workforce of almost 80% women, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Women make up the majority of Consumer Direct’s workforce. We value the women in our organization for their commitment to excellence, to service, and to a more gender inclusive community.

Our Care Network embraces this day as our opportunity to say thank you to the thousands of women who are providing care in the home every day. We recognize the need for gender parity and will continue to advocate for higher wages for home care workers. We understand and support our colleagues who choose to take part in today’s Day Without Women.

Consumers Direct Care Network’s mission: Providing quality services to individuals and families so they can remain in their homes and communities. We applaud our female colleagues nationwide and thank them for the work they do to support so many to remain safe and healthy in their homes and contributing to their communities.
