The Kenai Office for Consumer Direct Alaska presented a special award at our annual Christmas luncheon. We recognized, Tami Ward, for saving the life of a consumer earlier this year.
The consumer had taken an overdose of her medication and was non-responsive when Tami arrived at her home. With the assistance of a neighbor Tami was able to enter the residence and found the consumer near death. CPR was performed and EMT’s contacted. Tami’s persistence and quick action saved her life. After spending a month in the hospital, the consumer could not wait to get home and have Tami back assisting her as her PCA.
The consumer is thankful for having Tami as her caregiver and we are proud to have her as a member of our team and family at AK Consumer Direct – Kenai.
