Susan – Backersfield, Missouri – “My daughter fell through the cracks because the principal made a judgment on what he thought she could do, instead of following the law.”
The ADA has helped people, but there are ways it can be better. For example, I don’t think principals and school board superintendents in rural areas understand what the ADA means and how to apply the regulations to their schools. My daughter fell through the cracks because the principal made a judgment on what he thought she could do, instead of following the law. ADA representatives should be sent to schools to observe. They should talk to the students and their parents to see where the school is lacking.
