I entered the workforce at 17 years of age. My husband and I had our own business for the last 15 years of our working life. When we were no longer able to work, we both filled for Social Security Disability (SSD). We get SSD which is a blessing, but it was a challenge to prove that we were eligible. We don’t particularly want to live off the government, but we do not have a choice.
